Lights on Pennington Road is one of Hutchinson’s most well-known and beloved holiday traditions. Spanning nearly two acres, this drive-through display takes visitors on a journey from one themed scene to the next, packed with glowing wireframes, classic blow molds, inflatables, and detailed lighted characters. There truly is something here for everyone, making it a favorite for families, longtime locals, and first-time visitors alike.
The story behind the display goes back decades. The creator began putting up more lights than average as a teenager in the 1990s, eventually launching an animated, music-synchronized display using Light-O-Rama in 2009 while living on College Lane. That display grew larger each year and continued to evolve after moving to Pennington Road in 2017. While the show is no longer animated to specific songs, Christmas music now plays on 106.7 FM, setting the perfect soundtrack as you drive through and take it all in.
The display is open nightly from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM through December 31, offering a relaxed, festive experience you can enjoy from the comfort of your vehicle. It’s a must-see stop on the HutchConnect Holiday Light Trail and a shining example of how one person’s passion can become a community tradition.

This is one of the most spectacular holiday displays in Hutch, transforming an entire yard into a full walkthrough experience. The home is beautifully outlined with warm lights and framed by classic decorations, while the yard bursts into color with hundreds of synchronized LEDs, glowing arches, and detailed light sculptures. Visitors can stroll under illuminated tunnels, take in scenes of angels, snowmen, reindeer, and sparkling trees, and enjoy a full lineup of inflatables that bring extra charm and personality to the show. From the massive abominable snowman greeting you front and center to the glowing blue lawn of lighted figures, every corner has something to discover. It’s a must-see stop that truly captures the magic of the season.

Don't let the Grinch steal your holiday spirit! This festive display brings the classic story to life right on the front lawn, featuring the Grinch himself, Cindy Lou Who, and his faithful dog, Max. The home is bathed in a cool, wintry blue light that makes the warm glow of the towering 'mega tree' and spiral walkway lights pop. Keep an eye out for other fun guests, including a waving Santa, a cheerful snowman, and even a flamingo getting into the holiday spirit!
