Times are tough for a lot of folks right now and with the holidays coming up, it’s more important than ever that no one in our community feels alone.
Whether you’re looking for a little extra help this season or want to lend a hand to someone who could use one, we’ve pulled together local places and programs that make a difference right here in Hutchinson.
Below you’ll find two sections: Where to Get Help and Where to Give Help. We’ll keep adding to this list as we hear from more people. If you know of a resource we should include, fill out the correct form and we will get it listed.
Where to Get Help
First Call For Help is here with a huge range of programs designed to support our neighbors.
Need a walker, wheelchair, or commode? Beyond Barriers in Hutchinson offers a durable medical equipment loan program for a small fee, providing vital support to the community.
The Early Education Center (EEC) Clothing Closet helps kids right here in Hutch. They have an urgent need for winter clothes (sizes 5T-7T), pull-ups, and socks.
Need a little help? God's Pantry is a community blessing box at 17th & Main in Hutchinson, located at Trinity UMC. It's open 24/7. Take what you need, or leave a donation to help a neighbor.
The Eastwood church of Christ has a food pantry available for local residents needing assistance. Help is accessible during office hours or by making an appointment.
If you need a ride to the soup kitchen or food bank in Hutch, Hutch Taxi can help. They offer no-cost courtesy rides, no questions asked.
The Christian Soup Ministry Food Bank in Hutch offers grocery assistance. It serves residents, especially those ineligible for the Reno County Food Bank.
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hutch provides bags of shelf-stable groceries. A photo ID is required, and assistance is available once per month.
The Journey Mennonite Church Food Pantry in South Hutchinson provides food assistance to local residents. They are open weekday mornings, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The Buhler Community Food Pantry provides food assistance to residents who live within the Buhler School District (USD 313). Find their hours and location.
A free clothing and essentials resource for foster families and children in Hutchinson, KS.
The food pantry at Mt. Olivet Worship Center offers scheduled drive-thru distributions and "grab and go" bags for immediate needs. Call or check their website for the current schedule.
Living Hope FWD Food Pantry offers food assistance to the Hutchinson community. Please call them directly to find out about their hours and how to get help.

The First Church of God Emergency Pantry provides short-term, crisis food and hygiene items for Hutchinson residents facing an immediate need.
Where to Give Help
Clothed in Compassion is collecting new and gently used toys, books, and games on Saturday, Nov. 1st from 8-10 AM to bless local families in need.
it's easy to help keep the God's Pantry blessing box full! Located at 17th & Main, you can drop off non-perishable food items 24/7 to help a neighbor in Hutch.
Love animals? The Hutchinson Animal Shelter needs volunteers to help care for local pets. Opportunities include walking dogs, socializing cats, and helping at events. Great for families and teens 12+!
